Qbert Skratch University is a video based instruction site where DJs around the world learn to skratch through video exchanges with Qbert. Recently the Video Management System has been upgraded so that when students upload a personal video to their Student Page (and they do this often) the entire QSU community is notified on the Home Base by placing the Student's name at the top of the list of Recent Demo videos. This upgrade improves the already vibrant community that's steadily growing at QSU.
A Boston Globe story ran today (November 8) highlighting the exciting boom in online music instruction. The story prominently featured Artistworks' banjo school master teacher Tony Trishcka and noted the stable of artists Artistworks has assembled: jazz guitarists (Jimmy Bruno and Andreas Oberg, pianist (Christie Peery), harmonica player (Howard Levy), skratch artist (DJ Qbert).
Jesse Hernandez of Vinyl Addiction—new urban art form involving vinyl creations—told tubefilter.tv in an interview today that one of his upcoming interviews for Vinyl Addiction will be with DJ Qbert. Check out the amoeba.com "What's in My Bag" interview with Qbert. The segment talks to artist celebrities shopping at Amoeba Racks. Qbert explains how he looks for albums with a "weird" factor that he can skratch for cutting, beat sound effects, remixing and more.

Inside Qbert at QSU series: In an interview with Qbert on Monday night, Oct 12th, Qbert told the story of how he may be involved in the upcoming DJ Hero 2 game. “I went to the release party for DJ Hero in San Francisco, and was meeting all the developers and producers. Right there at the party they started talking about bringing me in for the DJ Hero 2 as it would be turntablist based. I am not sure how this idea got out into the news media. I think it’s a synchronistic opportunity and hopefully it will work out. We’ll see what happens.”

MTV Multiplayer Blog just released a story discussing Qbert as a perfect pick DJ to be featured on DJ Hero 2. The MTV blog by Brian Warmoth says, "Qbert would make a lot of sense for "DJ Hero 2."
